Because of a reporter’s error, information was attributed to the wrong source in a story on the views of St. Augustine mayoral candidates Nancy Shaver and Joseph Boles on city infrastructure in The Record on Saturday. Following is way the story should have read:

There is not an assessment that addresses the overall cost of upgrading roads, and the streets have not been assessed in 10 years, Shaver said. The city needs a better plan for improving infrastructure.

The recent capital improvement plan is not enough, she said, and more funding should be dedicated to routine maintenance.

Some roads have potholes and vehicles have fallen into large holes when the road has collapsed, although that has not happened often, Shaver said.

“The order of magnitude of what we need to do is big,” Shaver said.
