Q. There is a patch of grass in my lawn that is yellowing. Any idea what the cause may be?
A. Usually disease or insects are the primary cause. Because of our recent rainfall amounts, I would suspect disease. Inspect the leaves for any spots and tug on the grass to see if it pulls out easily. If so, inspect the roots for discoloration.
Q. I have a prickly pear cactus and would like more of them. How can I get the plant to multiply more quickly?
A. You can break off a ‘pad’ of the cactus grasping it with a pair of tongs. Then simply stick the butt end in the soil, and it should root in place.
