Q. How can I get my cut flower bouquets from the grocery store to last longer? They seem to expire too quickly.
A. If a packet of preservative comes with your bouquet, use it as instructed. It will provide energy and disease prevention to your flowers. Change the water every few days. and do not place your bouquet in too much light to help retard fungus in the water.
Q. My juniper bed is turning brown. Will watering it more help?
A. Most junipers are quite drought-tolerant and the reason most turn brown is due to too much water, which supports disease activity. We have had plenty of rain, so water should not be the issue. Disease is more likely the problem. A fungicide program may be needed for your juniper.
