Women’s choral group to perform in Neptune Beach

The North Florida Women’s Chorale will present a concert at 3 p.m. April 30 at Beaches Chapel Church, 410 Florida Ave., Neptune Beach.

The program, titled “Food for Body and Soul: A Musical Feast for the Ears” is a sometimes playful, sometimes serious concert about what nourishes us as human beings.

The chorale will sing “If Music Be the Food of Love,” “I Gave My Love an Apple,” “Hot Chocolate,” “That’s Amore” and “Music Down in My Soul.”

“Famine Song” is a reminder that many people in the world do not have enough to eat, so the choral group is asking the audience members to bring canned or boxed nonperishable food to the concert.

During rehearsal season, the chorale collected more than 100 pounds of food to take to Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (B.E.A.M), a local food bank.

The hour-long concert will feature a 35-voice choir directed by Kerry Fradley and accompanied by Kathleen Vande Berg.

The program is free and open to the public.
