Water shortage warning issued for St. Johns County

 

The St. Johns River Water Management District has issued a water shortage warning for St. Johns County due to extreme drought conditions in the area. Residents are encouraged to reduce water usage to conserve as much water as possible. Landscape irrigation is recommended to occur between 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. and not to exceed two days per week. County announces budget hearings

In conjunction with the annual budget process, members of the public are invited to attend the St. Johns County Fiscal Year 2018 administrator’s budget hearings scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 17 and May 18, and from 9 a.m. to noon May 19, at the St. Johns County Health and Human Services Building, 200 San Sebastian View.

The hearings will provide a departmental line item review of the proposed fiscal year 2018 St. Johns County budget in its formative stage prior to its presentation to the board of county commissioners. If the hearings proceed faster than anticipated, the scheduled times may be adjusted accordingly. For information, call the Office of Management and Budget at 209-0570.

TODAY: All county libraries to close for training

All St. Johns County Library branches and bookmobiles will be closed Wednesday for annual staff training.

All books and materials due May 17 will be due on May 18. Book drops will remain open at all locations and all online services, databases, and e-resources will be available during the closure.
