Daytona Beach woman indicted on murder charge in March shooting death

A Daytona Beach woman is in custody after a grand jury indicted her on a single count of second-degree murder stemming from the March shooting death of a 29-year-old Fernandina Beach man in St. Augustine.

Jordan Leigh Henries, 25, was taken into custody in Daytona Beach on Friday and later booked into the St. Johns County jail, the St. Augustine Police Department said in a news release.

Henries is accused of shooting and killing Jeffrey S. Lee, the man police have described as the boyfriend of Jordan Henries’ sister, Jessica Henries. According to police accounts of the incident, Jessica Henries called her sister and their mother to her apartment in the 400 block of Arricola Avenue on the evening of March 9, saying that Lee, who had been issued a trespass warning for the property, had shown up and the two had been in some sort of physical altercation.

Police said they believe that shortly after Jordan Henries and her mother arrived an additional confrontation occurred between them and Lee, during which Jordan Henries shot and killed Lee.
