Sheriff’s Office: 2 guns reported stolen from vehicles

Two guns were reported stolen from separate vehicles Monday morning, according to reports from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

The first report says a deputy responded to the 1100 block of Secret Oaks Place just after 7 a.m. to a report of vehicle burglary.

The owner of the vehicle told the deputy he had left two handguns inside his truck overnight and left the doors unlocked.

The man said that when he entered the truck on Monday morning he noticed a Ruger .380 handgun had been taken from the center console along with four knives.

About three hours later a man who lives in the 2700 block of Arundel Lane called the Sheriff’s Office to report a .40 caliber handgun had been stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.

The man told the responding deputy that he had last driven the vehicle on Saturday, and when he came out Monday morning he noticed the door was ajar and the center console and glove box appeared to have been gone through.

Two loaded magazines were also stolen along with the handgun, the man reported.
