All northbound lanes on Interstate 95 are now open ater two crashes this morning.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is asking drivers to mind their speed and pay attention as traffic “will be stop and go” throughout the county as the taffic that has backed up through the morning clears the area.
UPDATE 1:25 p.m.
Florida Highway Patrol has reopened northbound lanes at Thursday morning’s first crash near mile marker 314.
Northbound lanes remain closed, however, at mile marker 305 after a second crash around 11:30 a.m.
UPDATE 12:15 p.m.
With northbound lanes still blocked from a crash early Thursday morning, a second crash on Interstate 95 has blocked northbound lanes about 10 miles to the south.
The second crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. Thursday near mile marker 305, according to Florida Highway Patrol’s website.
Crews are still working to clear the roadway near mile marker 314 from a crash that happened before 5 a.m.
More updates will be posted as they become available.
The northbound lanes of Interstate 95 are closed at mile marker 314 while Florida Highway Patrol investigates a crash with a fatality.
Investigators are on scene and working to get the roadway open as soon as possible, Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Traffic is being diverted at State Road 207 and onto to U.S. 1, the release said.
