1 man injured, another in custody after shooting in St. Johns

One man received minor injuries and another man is in custody following a shooting Friday evening at a residence in St. Johns, authorities say.

St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 100 block of Richmond Dr. shortly after 10:30 p.m. in reference to a male subject with a gun shot wound in the arm.

Wilmer J. Moses, 35, was treated at the scene by St. Johns County Fire Rescue personnel and then transported to Memorial Hospital with minor, non life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, Alexvanger Vasquez, 35, was taken into custody without incident. The Sheriff’s Office says an investigation resulted in charges of attempted murder and violation of a no-contact order on Vasquez.

Detectives continue the investigation.
