Dr. Glenos attends orthodontics meeting


Dr. Jimmy Glenos, local board certified specialist in orthodontics, recently attended the annual midwinter meeting of the American Association of Orthodontics in Fort Lauderdale.

Current experts spoke on the topics of digital orthodontics. Recent advances in 3D radiography, digital scanning of the teeth and 3D printing of orthodontic appliances have helped to make orthodontic care more comfortable, more precise and more efficient for patients of all ages.

Glenos recently opened a second location in Doctors Village on Race Track Road next to Memorial Emergency Center.


Friends of Scenic A1A has new board of directors

The Friends of A1A Scenic &Historic Coastal Byway recently announced the 2017-19 board of directors overseeing the 72-mile national scenic byway through St. Johns and Flagler counties.

Leading the efforts as the president of Scenic A1A on behalf of St. Johns County, is Bill McClure, former St. Johns County commissioner and current CEO of the U.S. Bamboo Coalition.

Vice president of the organization is retired business executive Marge Rooyakkers. She has been heavily involved in organizations such as the Flagler Audubon Society and is currently serving as president of the Hammock Community Association.

Taking the helm as treasurer is banking executive Lisa McGowan. Currently vice president of VyStar Credit Union in St. Augustine Beach, McGowan is a regular speaker at the University of North Florida’s Coggin School of Business.
