City attorney addresses sea level rise

 

City of St. Augustine attorney Isabelle Lopez spoke Thursday at the Florida Coastal Law Conference in Tampa.

Lopez, who co-wrote “Sea level rise adaptation: Funding sources” with Abby Corbett and Jason Koslowe (Stearns Weaver Miller, P.A.), discussed innovative ways to use funding sources to construct infrastructure that will be more resilient to sea level rise. The presentation was delivered to attorneys and government officials.

Lopez has been city attorney since her appointment in 2014.

VyStar opens 44th branch, located in St. Augustine north

VyStar Credit Union announced the official opening its St. Augustine North branch, located at 3654 North Ponce de Leon Blvd. VyStar officials conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new location on Oct. 26.

VyStar’s St. Augustine North branch joins their St. Augustine branches on State Road 312 and the St. Augustine Beach branch on Anastasia Island.

Jaybird’s opens outdoor event space

Jaybird’s Restaurant unveiled its newly remodeled 5,000-square-foot outdoor event space at an open house and ribbon cutting on Oct. 25.

The new space includes a roof in the event of inclement weather, a portable dance floor, a waterfall feature and staging area for live music.
