LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:

Take our country back?

Editor: I was amazed to read that a Virginia college student said that she voted for a Democrat for governor because it was “a kind of anti-Trump vote.” I always thought college was a place where you were taught to think. Apparently this college student has not learned to think yet. Wouldn’t it be better to do research on persons running for office and their views and then decide who is a better person for the job?

The media and Democratic party are making a big deal about winning in New Jersey and Virginia as big election victories. These states voted Democrat during the presidential election. There is no surprise here. I think they are a little early saying this is a trend. It’s almost like they are playing a child’s game of “I gotcha.”

The Democrats stated they want to take our country back from President Trump one election at a time. Take it back? It was never gone. It was only their way of seeing it that way. They are the ones causing the separation in this country — shame on them.

As Hilliary Clinton stated, anyone who refuses to accept the outcome of an election is a threat to democracy.
