Quit counting the votes,

and count your blessings

Editor: I had to laugh when I read the letter that stated Trumpers need some civic lessons. It reminded me of a campaign speech in Beaverton, Oregon when Obama stated he had visited 57 states with one to go.

President Trump’s Republican voters are no more and no less constitutionally illiterate than Democrat voters. Clinton won the popular vote because of the state of California. How many of California voters do you think can name all 50 states or know how our government should work?

Although I agree military weapons of war should be confiscated, the 2nd Amendment does give the right of the people to keep and bear arms. The Supreme Court ruled that the right belongs to individuals, while also ruling the right is not unlimited and does not prohibit all regulation of either firearms or similar devices.

The eight years of the Obama administration were the closest this country came to socialism. Had Clinton won, it would have been more of the same or worse. President Trump is the only hope we have to keep our democracy.

If the Democrats would stop fretting about losing the election and pay more attention to what is going on, perhaps it will become clearer to them.
