The Bears eked out a narrow 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 victory on Tuesday night in a District 4-8A contest. Alexia Kuehl and Madison Sheffield led the Bears’ offense with 12 kills apiece. Katie Demo had three aces for the Bears and Alex Murphy had 15 assists. Fleming Island (4-4, 0-2) was led by a dozen kills from Emily Charbonneau, 15 digs from Jangelz Ramirez and Kaci Hollenbacher and 19 assists from Kailey DiPaula. The Golden Eagles will host Fletcher on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Bartram Trail (4-1, 2-0) will host district opponent Gainesville Buchholz on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Ponte Vedra 3
The Sharks won their 46th straight district match with a comfortable 25-10, 25-8, 25-2 win over Palatka. Paige Johnson recorded eight aces and five assists. Lily Kinder led the Sharks with six kills. Gabby Keller produced six aces and four digs.
St. Augustine 3
Atlantic Coast 1
The Yellow Jackets (5-1) handed Atlantic Coast (4-1) its first loss of the season with a 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 25-20 home victory. St. Augustine’s Alexandra Petrilli produced 25 kills, her second straight match with 20 or more kills. Ashlyn Harper led the Jackets with 20 digs and added eight kills. Atlantic Coast’s Malan Leon led all players with 59 digs. Setter Adriana Dionisio led the Stingrays with 17 assists and three aces. St. Augustine will play at Nease on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Flashes (1-3) were swept 25-19, 25-21, 26-24. Senior Lauren Mello narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and nine digs. Kayla Mansell had 13 blocks as well as four kills and an ace. Shannon Matthaei produced four kills and 20 digs. Eagle’s View (2-4) was led by Hannah Mosley’s 15 kills. Cassidy Stevens and Harper Cowen added a pair of aces for the Warriors.
Beacon of Hope 3

The Eagles improved to 2-3 on the season with a 25-23, 25-13, 25-15 win in Jacksonville. Kayla Pinkney led the visitors with 17 aces, two kills and two digs. Madison Smith recorded seven aces. Beacon of Hope will host Cedar Creek Christian in a doubleheader Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Falcons are a spotless 5-0 on the season after beating Palatka at the St. Johns Golf Club. Menendez sophomore Jason Duff was the medalist with a 1-over 37. Hunter Boahn carded a 2-over 38, while Andrew Kirschman shot a 40 and Tristan Mahalich shot a 41. Chris Holland shot Palatka’s lowest round with a 4-over 40.
Bartram Trail 140
Brett Schell took medalist honors with a 3-under-par 33 at The Golf Club at South Hampton. Hunter Layne shot a 1-under 35, while Jon Lumley and Jackson Crandall each shot 36 for Bartram Trail (3-2). Sam King led Episcopal (3-2) with a 35. The Bears play at Fleming Island on Thursday.
