9Round opens in St. Augustine

 

9Round, a kickboxing fitness franchise, opened its first location in St. Augustine at 74 Capulet Drive, Suite 207.

The 9Round workout consists of a 30-minute circuit format with routines that change daily, all led by trainers. Because of the circuit format, there are no class times, and a new session starts every three minutes.

9Round workouts consist of nine, three-minute stations of cardio, weight training, abdominal exercises, and kicks and punches on 100-pound, double-end, upper cut and speed bags.

Distillery names general manager

St. Augustine Distillery has announced the appointment of Matt Stevens as general manager. Drawing on more than a decade of experience, Stevens is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the facility including tour operations, the distillery’s on-site retail gift shop and guest experience.

Born and raised in St. Augustine, Stevens spent seven years in management roles at Momentum Aviation Group in Tucson, Arizona, and six years as manager of A1A Ale Works.

Resort announces director of sales

Jay Marsella has been named as the new director of sales and marketing for the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort &Spa.

The property recently underwent a $25 million renovation project, which included a variety of enhancements and additions.

Marsella joins the property having most recently served as the opening director of sales and marketing at the Houston Marriott Marquis.

FSR magazine honors Raintree

FSR magazine, which serves the full-service restaurant industry, named St. Augustine’s Raintree Restaurant as one of its top 100 independent restaurants from the 1900s to today. The list includes establishments that have been in business for at least 35 years.

Raintree, on San Marco Avenue, opened in 1981 and is owned by Lorna MacDonald.

Also making the list is the Columbia Restaurant, which has locations here, Tampa, Sarasota, Clearwater Beach and Orlando.
