Frontier Airlines moving seasonal Philadelphia service from St. Augustine to Jacksonville

Frontier Airline’s seasonal service between St. Augustine and Philadelphia is being switched to Jacksonville, the airline announced Tuesday.

A release from Frontier said the airline would offer service from Jacksonville International Airport direct to Philadelphia starting Feb. 14, 2018. It was the same seasonal service that is currently offered through the Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St. Augustine.

“While we are disappointed by Frontier’s corporate decision to move their Northeast Florida service from St. Augustine, we respect their decision and wish them all the best,” said Ed Wuellner, the executive director of the St. Augustine-St. Johns County Airport Authority, in an email.

“We continue dialogue with the carrier and with other air service providers, continuing the mission of our airport to provide northeast Florida with both commercial and general aviation options.”

Frontier also announced it will offer nonstop flights to Chicago-O’Hare through Jacksonville. It previously announced service to Cincinnati and Denver through Jacksonville.
